The Neighborhood Revitalization program supports property improvement for residential, commercial and agriculture property. The project should increase the value of the property in excess of $15,000.
The Kansas Department of Commerce offers a diverse portfolio of financial incentives for rural communities and business that are looking to locate or expand in Kansas. Programs include retention of holding taxes, investment tax credits, sales tax project exemptions and revolving loan funds for local infrastructure projects.
In an effort to encourage families to locate within Hiawatha and Brown County, the City of Hiawatha and the Hiawatha Foundation for Economic Development are currently offering incentives to new home builders through a Free Land Program. All lots are located on Aztec Street in Pleasant View Second Addition and are free of any special assessments. Homes must be new construction and have a minimum square footage of 1,250 sq. ft.
