In 1981, the Hiawatha Foundation for Economic Development was incorporated as a Not-for-Profit organization. Membership is comprised of individuals and businesses. A board of directors is elected each year from the membership. A board of directors meeting is held the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month and an annual meeting is held each January.
